Spring 2017 — Serving the Gods, the Land, and the Folk for over 25 years

Stone Creed Grove, ADF is a congregation of neo-pagan druids located in the Cleveland, OH metro area. As a chartered grove of Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship, an international organization for public neo-pagan druidry, we hold public rites regularly throughout the year to honor the religious rituals of our Indo-European ancestors. Our public rites are open to all regardless of background or current religions belief.

Upcoming Rite: Dionysia

Sunday, March 19, River Grove, Willoughby Hills

As the sun returns, the folk gather to prepare for the planting season, that our coming year will be fruitful! The Dionysia was a time when the Hellenic peoples would come together to celebrate the first fruits of the vine with drink and joyous entertainment, and we as a grove restore that tradition with the honoring of Dionysos, patron of wine and agriculture and comedy, and Persephone Kore, the returning pure maiden of spring.

Folk of the grove have the opportunity to prepare colored hard-boiled eggs to be blessed in the rite, and may also bring seeds for a pre-planting blessing. After the rite, we will share in our customary pot-luck feast.

Upcoming Rite: Beltaine

Sunday, May 7, Tredara Retreat Center, Madison

In the beginning of May, the veil between our world and the Otherworld grows thin, and we gather to celebrate the newly fertile land! The Feast of Beltainne is our opportunity to honor Aine Glas, the Green Earth who brings renewed life, and Aengus Og, the Harper whose music awakens longing and fulfillment. We also pay special attention to the Sidhe-folk of the land, and the erotic urges that come with the season.

After the rite, we take the opportunity to dance around the Maypole, a symbol of the fertility of the season. We will also have our usual pot-luck feast following the rite.

Monthly Blessing Rites

Blessing rites are normally held on the first and second Friday of each month. First Friday rites are held at Spirit Apothecary in Bedford, while second Friday rites are at Goddess Elite in North Olmsted. Blessing rites are an opportunity for members to engage in regular religious practice and work magic to improve their lives and the lives of others.

Tredara News

In the last several months, grove members have purchased 2 homes, along with substantial land, adjacent to Tredara’s facilities. Many grove members have put in hours of labor towards making these homes usable, which will make this area better able to host events for Stone Creed Grove, our parent organization ADF, and the wider pagan community.

And now the details:

  • Ian and Sue are in the final stages of taking possession of the brown house adjacent to theirs, directly to the south. They intend to turn it into a pagan library, as well as make use of the space to house visitors from out of town and host workshops in unpleasant weather.
  • Dave now resides in the white house directly across Bennett Road from Tredara. This will also be eventually available as out-of-town housing, and is currently planned as a sober space during festivals and gatherings.

There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the spring to work on improving these spaces – keep an eye on Facebook event postings, and contact Ian, Dave, or Sue if you have time free and want to help out.

One last improvement to be expecting this spring: The installation of a brand-new nature spirits shrine, complete with a sculpture, by the pond on the northern part of the Tredara property.

The Wellspring Gathering 2O17

Thursday, May 25 - Monday, May 29
Tredara Hearth, Madison OH

As we did last year, we are hosting a festival for our parent organization, ADF, at our very own Tredara facility. Last year’s move was a success, and we got excellent attendence for our first year from our out-of-town guests.

Planned activities include:

  • Seidhr ritual led by Rev. Robert Lewis
  • Community concert and fireworks show
  • ADF Annual Meeting
  • Competitions for ADF Warriors, Bards, Brewers, and Artisans
  • Workshops and classes
  • Meetings with guilds, kins, SIGs, and other ADF interest-based groups

We strongly encourage Stone Creed Grove members and friends to attend for all or part of the event. We offer day passes for local members, and work barter opportunities for those who wish to volunteer. This is a great opportunity to meet members of our wider organization, and our chance to show our many visitors our quality hospitality. Prices are cheaper for those who Pre-register!
